Introduction
Cruising with a toddler? Yes, it can be an adventure filled with fun and memories, especially when you’re aboard Royal Caribbean’s magnificent Oasis of the Seas. Our recent voyage was a delightful blend of relaxation, exploration, and, most importantly, seeing our 22-month-old son, Jason, experience the joys of cruising.
Spacious Living in an Interior Cabin
One of our biggest concerns was the space inside our interior cabin. But, to our surprise, it turned out to be a toddler’s paradise. The room was surprisingly spacious, allowing
Jason to walk around and play freely. We brought some of his favorite toys and activities, which made the cabin feel like a home away from home. – Special shout out to our stateroom attendant, Bert, for surprising us with a new Towel animal every day!!
Carousel Adventures
A cruise ship might not be the first place you’d think to find a carousel, but the Oasis of the Seas has one, and it quickly became one of Jason’s favorite spots. We’ll never forget the excitement on his face as he rode a carousel for the very first time. The sound of laughter, the enchanting music, and the twinkling lights created a magical experience that left us all smiling.
Late-Night Pizza and Strolls
Late-night hunger pangs are nothing out of the ordinary, and the ship’s pizzeria was our go-to spot before tucking Jason into bed. Enjoying pizza from Sorrento’s while taking in all of the activities and bustle in the Royal Promenade was a great way to end each day.
Morning Lattes and Central Park Strolls
Mornings began with the aromatic scent of freshly brewed lattes from the Park Cafe in Central Park. We savored our coffee and breakfast while enjoying the serene greenery that Central Park offers, right in the middle of the ocean. It was a relaxing and invigorating way to start our days. We also had fun finding a couple of cruise rubber duckies that were hiding in the greenery.
Poolside Relaxation and Stroller Walks
When we weren’t chasing waves, we
were lounging by the pool. The gentle sea breeze, the warm sun, and the sounds of water all contributed to a truly soothing experience for the entire family. Jason loved playing by the pool, and when it was naptime, we strolled him along the ship’s jogging track in his stroller. The views of the open sea were breathtaking, and the fresh air seemed to lull him to sleep.
Cruising with a toddler can be an adventure of its own, and our journey on the Oasis of the Seas proved that it’s not only possible but also incredibly enjoyable. The ship’s family-friendly facilities and welcoming atmosphere made it an unforgettable experience. Watching our little one’s eyes light up as he explored the ship and took his first carousel ride are memories we’ll cherish forever. So, if you’re considering a cruise with your toddler, don’t hesitate – embark on the adventure, and create memories that will last a lifetime.
